Contributor License Agreement
When you add a line to Ourstory, you’re contributing to something larger than any one of us — a novel written by everyone. Before you do, here’s what that means for your writing.
You keep your copyright. Every line you submit remains yours. What you’re granting is permission for your contribution to live inside the shared work — to be read, printed, shared, and built upon as part of the whole.
You may be credited by your pen name, or you may choose to contribute anonymously. Either way, your authorship is honoured. We reserve the right to remove or replace pen names that are offensive, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate.
Full agreement
By submitting a line to Ourstory, you grant the operators of this service a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable licence to reproduce, display, distribute, and create derivative works from your contribution, solely as part of the collaborative work known as Ourstory or any edition thereof.
You retain full copyright in your contribution. This licence does not transfer ownership, and you remain free to republish your own contribution independently.
You represent that your submission is your own original work, that you have the right to grant this licence, and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.
No royalties, fees, or compensation of any kind are owed to you for contributions made under this agreement, nor are any owed by you to us.
Attribution will be given via the pen name you have set on your account, or as “Anonymous” if you have not set one or have not signed in.
